idea how to use it. The idea did not work out and the mantel has been stored in my garage ever since. Generally, I am not fond of a mantel on a wall without a fireplace, however, I think I have found a solution that I can live with. The handyman is coming this afternoon to hang the mantel! Wish me luck!
